What is a Parent Coach?

  • A parent coach is a certified professional who helps you cultivate a better relationship with your children.

  • Whether on the phone, in-person, or over Zoom, a parent coach gives customized support and advice based on each individual family’s needs.

  • A parent coach addresses issues such as problems with routines and transitions (morning and night, for example), power struggles, parental anger, discipline, homework challenges, chores, and “disrespectful” behavior.

  • A parent coach assists the parents in creating parenting plans and then supports the parents as they practice these plans.  Because children and families can be complex, the parent coach helps the parents problem-solve as challenges arise.

  • A parent coach is NOT a therapist or mental health professional.

  • A parent coach can NOT diagnose you child.

How does Parent Coaching work?

  • One on One Coaching-Clients are scheduled for 12 one-hour appointments spaced 7-14 days apart, depending on specific needs and goals. This structure allows for steady progress while also allowing for flexibility. â€‹â€‹

  • Group parent coaching- Involves a small group of up to 6 participants working through a 12 week program together. This program is offered at a fixed cost, which is shared equally among group members, making it an affordable and collaborative way to achieve common goals.  â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹

  • The appointments are via Zoom, phone, Google Meets or in person if location and schedule allows.

  • Appointments can include spouses, co-parents, caregivers, step parents, nannies.

  • Parent Coach does not meet with the child, they assist from behind the scenes
